Life is tough now for all of us and many of us are looking at ways to increase our income and reduce our outgoings.
There are some amazing ways to make savings in your life or increase your income such as using cashback sites, you can read more on how to make the most of those sites here. If you are on the lookout for quick ways to increase your income when time is limited. Here are my favourite ways to quickly make yourself some money by selling items you no longer want.
Without a doubt, this is the quickest and easiest way to make money. You may think that you don’t have anything to sell, but we all have something in our house to hold. I am not one that holds on to things for the sake of sentiment but also due to lack of space we are always making sure we don’t hang on to things we don’t need.
If you are unsure where to get started, here are the best places to sell, depending on what you have.
Vinted –
This is best for clothing items and has grown in popularity over the last few years.
It is easy to get clothing listed and sold. This is a great site for selling kids’ clothes as let’s face it, they grow out of clothes so quickly it is almost a never-ending cycle!
We Buy books –
I think the name sums this one up however if you have a selection of books to sell off then this site would be perfect for you. It is so simple to use too as you simply scan the barcodes on the app and you will get an instant valuation. Then if you are happy with the prices given you simply pack it all up, post it off and get paid.
As a parent, this is a great way to get some space back in the kid’s rooms as they have grown up and no longer read the books on the shelves.
Facebook Marketplace –
This is a great place for getting rid of those big bulky items. I have found Facebook Marketplace a bit hit and miss at times though when it comes to selling items. Sometimes you end up with silly offers or a number of no-shows.
It is a great place though to have a quick clear-out with no fees either!
Music Magpie –
Over the years Music Magpie has changed as we have moved away from the lives of DVD’s and CD’s there is still lots of things that you are able to sell on there as they are great for purchasing technology. So if you have an old phone lying around in a drawer or maybe an old console that is no longer used, check them out.
They are also on Quidco, so don’t miss out on your cashback when you are selling.
eBay –
Out of all the sites we have shared, this is likely to be the site that everyone knows about. It is the one place where you can sell pretty much anything and everything. They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure and this is the case on here. Don’t be afraid to put things on there that you might not think anyone will buy, someone will be interested in the right price.
Just remember that eBay will charge you for the listing and final selling fee. Though they will offer you deals throughout the year, so keep an eye out
These are just a few places where you can sell up some items in your home. This is a great way to start saving for maybe retirement, moving home or just building yourself a little nest egg. You can check out this great savings calculator that will help you get an idea of where you can get to.
